Walk With Rafizah 2026
A year of gentle walks, shared stories, and slow presence

I started "Walk With Rafizah" in 2024 because I wanted to create a simple, low-pressure way for people to come together just to walk, notice our surroundings, and have conversations that unfold naturally.

In 2026, I am committing to a monthly walk on the second Saturday of every month. Each walk is designed to be accessible, easy-paced, and welcoming to people of different ages and energy levels. Most are reachable by public transport, free or with a nominal fee, and take about two hours.

Some walks are quiet and reflective. Others are cultural or nature-based. One takes us out of Kuala Lumpur altogether. Together, they form a gentle rhythm for the year.

Here is the full "Walk With Rafizah 2026" calendar.

1. Saturday, 10 January, FRIM Canopy Walk:  We begin the year above ground, among trees. The FRIM Canopy Walk offers a literal change in perspective, and feels like a symbolic way to step into a new year. This walk requires registration and a fee due to FRIM regulations.

2. Saturday, 14 February, Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia:  A calm, indoor walk through one of the most beautiful museums in the region. We will move slowly, look closely, and let conversations emerge naturally. A quiet alternative to the usual Valentine’s bustle.

3. Saturday, 14 March, Perdana Botanical Gardens: Wide paths, shade, and space to breathe. This is an easy, conversational walk surrounded by greenery, suitable for all ages.

4. Saturday, 11 April, National Textile Museum: A blend of indoor galleries and outdoor surroundings near Merdeka Square. This walk focuses on heritage, craft, and how stories are carried through fabric.

5. Saturday, 9 May, KL Eco Forest Park: A forest experience in the heart of the city. We will stick to the easier boardwalk sections, keeping the walk short and manageable.

6. Saturday, 13 June, Planetarium Negara:  A contemplative walk around the Planetarium precinct. This is a slower month, focused on time, perspective, and reflection. Entry to galleries is free, shows are optional.

7. Saturday, 11 July, National Art Gallery Malaysia: An air-conditioned, accessible walk through Malaysian art. This is an easy, thoughtful month that invites interpretation rather than explanations.

8. Saturday, 8 August, Tugu Negara and ASEAN Sculpture Garden: A quiet, dignified walk focused on remembrance and form. Short distances, shaded paths, and space for reflection.

9. Saturday, 12 September, Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery: History, society, and art come together here. Fully accessible, well-paced, and excellent for mixed-age groups.

10. Saturday, 10 October, Royal Selangor Visitor Centre: A sheltered, comfortable walk centred on Malaysian craftsmanship and quiet storytelling. A good pause before the year becomes busy again.

11. Saturday–Sunday, 14–15 November, Ipoh: This is our out-of-town edition. A 2D1N heritage walk through Ipoh’s Old Town, designed to be slow, walkable, and food-friendly. Travel by ETS train, accommodation self-arranged.

12. Saturday, 12 December, PARC @ SS15:  We end the year outdoors with a gentle park walk and picnic. Flat paths, easy access by LRT, and a relaxed potluck-style gathering to close the year together.

A note on participation
These walks are not fitness challenges. You do not need to be chatty. You do not need to know anyone. You just need comfortable shoes and a willingness to show up.

Details for each walk, including meeting points and registration where required, will be shared closer to the date.

If you have been looking for a way to move your body gently, meet new people without pressure, and spend your Saturdays a little more intentionally, I hope you will join us.

I look forward to walking with you in 2026.
